A life transformed by beating trachoma!

When we met little Nalukena at an eye screening in Zambia, she was scared to open her eyes, which were sore and weepy.

Her parents knew she was in pain, but they didn’t know why. Like thousands of other children, she had trachoma, a painful and blinding disease. Without treatment, Nalukena was at risk of losing her sight forever and her future looked uncertain.

Today, she’s all smiles. With a kind gift from you, we can reach children with trachoma early, treat them with antibiotics and give them a brighter future. That is exactly what you have done for two-year-old Nalukena and her family. Soon, she’ll be able to join her brothers and sisters at school and her parents hope she’ll grow up to be a sight-saving doctor.
