As a leading international blindness charity, Sightsavers has 75 years of experience in the prevention and treatment of sight loss in both children and adults. What we do

We treat eye conditions such as trachoma, cataracts and other debilitating diseases. To do this, we work with governments and partners to carry out eye operations and distribute treatments. We also train eye health workers to diagnose and treat conditions that can cause blindness.

Where we work

Sightsavers works in more than 30 countries across Africa and Asia. In the past five years, we have helped The Gambia, Malawi, Benin and Mali to eliminate the eye disease trachoma. We are working hard to eliminate trachoma worldwide, and to treat people with eye conditions before it is too late to save their sight.
