An update on Taonga and Mary

We recently told you of two children called Taonga and Mary who had cataracts. Their deteriorating eyesight was holding them back: Taonga was unable to play games or walk to school with his friends. Mary once loved school, but her worsening vision was making her isolated. They both faced uncertain futures.

But thanks to amazing supporters like you, they were able to receive the cataract surgery they so desperately needed.

We recently caught up with Taonga and Mary to see how their lives have changed since their sight-saving operations. Watch the video below:

Thank you so much – your support is truly life changing.

There is still time to donate today

I would like to make a
one-off
donation to Sightsavers:

could provide vital Primary Eye Care training to five health workers.

could provide 25 children with the lenses needed to correct their cataracts.

could pay for a sight-saving and life-changing cataract operation for a child like Taonga.
